THE MALAWI ODONTOLOGICAL SOCIETY

Oral and dental health services are making significant strides in Malawi.

The recent graduation on 30th April of the first home-trained dentists was a milestone, which together with launch of the National Oral Health Policy in 2022 and the ongoing construction of a new Dental School building at Kamuzu University of Health Sciences, reflects the exciting progress underway.

Know More About The Malawi Odontological Society

The Malawi Odontological Society was established in 2025 by a small group of dental health professionals with a view to promoting the highest standards of patient care, summarised in our strapline:

‘Learn, Grow, Succeed’.

The primary objectives of the Society are to:

Deliver high quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for dental professional staff in Malawi.

Provide a focus for professional fellowship for all members of Malawi’s dental team, including dentists, dental therapists, dental technologists, dental surgery assistants and final year dental and dental therapy students.

Meetings will be recorded and available through the Society’s website for those unable to attend in real time, providing a valuable on-line learning resource for all members.
